Mazda Toyota Manufacturing Sweetening the Pot for Workers
Mazda Toyota Manufacturing has reworked their compensation packages going into 2022 to better meet the needs of workers and to attract new workers looking to change careers. Considering MTM plans to hire up to 1,300 additional team members through 2022, the openings for people looking for a better job, more opportunities, and upward mobility are many at MTM.
The car manufacturer is offering new hourly team members a sign-on bonus totaling $3,000, paired with an appreciation bonus equaling the same amount, in addition to a wage increase for both new and existing MTM team members.
“Mazda Toyota Manufacturing understands that our team members are the secret ingredient to our success,” said Mark Brazeal, vice president of Administration at MTM. “We want them to feel the appreciation we have for them, as they build the two beautiful SUVs that MTM produces.”
Commensurate to their experience and position with MTM, beginning October 29, 2021, production team members saw an increase in starting wages from $17.00 an hour to $18.35. Top production rate wages increased from $23.00 an hour to $25.00. Skilled team members saw an increase in starting wages from $23.50 an hour to $25.64, and management and supervisory wages rose from $33.00 an hour to $36.00.
New team members who join MTM before February 28, 2022, will be eligible for this bonus and payments will be reflected in team member pay as early as March 2022.
