The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce has announced that Huntsville’s microgravity panel will be one of the presenters at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2022 in Austin, TX on March 13.

The panel, a partnership between Rhodium Scientific, Sierra Space, and SustainSpace, will make the commercial case for incorporating microgravity into research and development. By showcasing technology used in low-Earth orbit and aboard the International Space Station, the panel’s goal will be to demonstrate Huntsville’s involvement in cutting-edge space-related research and to raise awareness about microgravity.

This presentation is tied to the Chamber’s work to build market demand for landing the Sierra Space Dream Chaser® at Huntsville International Airport. The panel’s session is part of a “space rush” component of the tech industry track.

Panel speakers will be Lucia Cape of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, Mark Ciotola of SustainSpace, Olivia Holzhaus of Rhodium Scientific, and John Roth of Sierra Space.

The panel will also be hosting a coffee break and a happy hour with its partners the day of the session in order to provide additional opportunities to talk with attendees and to promote the Huntsville metro area as ASmartPlace® for space.
