CFD Research Donates $35k to Huntsville Hospital Foundation
HUNTSVILLE, AL – For the past five years, CFD Research has held its annual CFD Research-Liz Hurley Golf Classic to benefit the top technology needs of Huntsville Hospital’s Breast Center through the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and its Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund.
This year’s event was the most successful yet with the number of participants in the tournament nearly doubling compared to previous years. In addition, the tournament surpassed its original fundraising goal by $10,000.
“The generous support of our industry partners allowed CFD to meet our original goal of donating $25,000 to support the purchase of high-tech breast density software and add another $10,000 donation for high-touch patient experience upgrades to the Breast Center,” said CFD Research President and CEO Sameer Singhal. “We want to thank the Huntsville Hospital Foundation for providing CFD the opportunity to continue our support to the community and our industry partners for joining us in their support.”
The additional funding will be used to purchase a robe warmer, which will help the Breast Center to fulfill its goal to create a more inviting atmosphere for patients who visit. This is part of HHF’s new Breast Cancer patient experience project, which will shift the focus of the visit to wellness, in part by replacing the hospital gowns patients currently wear with robes. These new donor-funded robes will be warm and comforting for patients thanks to CFD’s contribution.
“CFD has been an incredible partner of Huntsville Hospital Foundation for many years, and their gifts have helped elevate the level of diagnostic care that women receive in Huntsville Hospital’s Breast Center every day,” said Sarah Savage-Jones, president of Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
“This generous donation helps take that one step further to improve the patient experience in our Breast Center. The purchase of this robe warmer will combine with other investments to provide a more spa-like environment, relieving the understandable anxiety and fear that women experience when having their annual mammogram and follow-up diagnostic procedures,” she continued. “This is a gift that will truly keep on giving.”
