Sarah Sharman, PhD – HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology – Research Communication Manager
Dr. Sarah Sharman, PhD, was recently promoted to HudsonAlpha’s Research Communications Manager after starting as a Science Writer. She is co-host of the Institute’s “Tiny Expeditions” podcast and author of our “Everyday DNA blog.” She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Birmingham Southern College in 2012. She then went on to achieve her PhD in Biochemistry and Cancer Biology from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2017. Dr. Sharman is a Finalist The People’s Choice Podcast Award in 2023 for the Science & Medicine Category and received the Graduate School Excellence in Research Award in 2017 from Augusta University.

What is the best part about working in Huntsville?
Being surrounded by such a rich history of science and technology is incredibly inspiring, especially in my line of work. Coupling that with the growing art scene makes Huntsville the perfect environment for a creative science communicator like me to learn and grow.

Take advantage of the wealth of networking opportunities that the Rocket City offers through Huntsville Young Professionals, Chamber events, Cummings Research Park socials, and more.
