McGee Named COO for Applied Technologies Group

Mark McGee has been named chief operating officer for Applied Technologies Group, the company announced.

McGee brings a strong military and business background to ATG, according to a news release from ATG. He served more than 30 years in the Army, holding leadership positions at all levels from platoon to brigade, before retiring in 2010 as assistant commandant of the Air Defense Artillery Branch.

McGee will oversee the company’s business operations strategy, working closely with ATG Founder/President/CEO Angela Biekert, the company said. He will lead efforts to optimize ATG’s business processes while maintaining the relationships the company has built with its customers and partners.

As director of programs for Northrop Grumman, his previous employers, McGee managed a large ACAT1 program and was responsible for all financial performance, day-to-day operations, and management of engineering functions, the release said.

He managed more than 300 employees in software development, hardware design, major end item production, and system integration and testing. With Northrop Grumman, McGee led proposal wins resulting in more than $1 billion in awarded contract value.
