April 13, 2022/in News/by staff reports

Huntsville’s ServisFirst Bank, a subsidiary of ServisFirst Bancshares (NYSE:SFBS), has announced the promotions of Blake Freeman to Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer; Stuart Whitaker to Vice President, Commercial Banking Office; and Rachel Guthrie to Assistant Relationship Manager and Bank Officer.

“We are proud of the hard work and excellent service provided by the bankers on our Huntsville team,” states Andy Kattos, ServisFirst Bank Executive Vice President and Regional CEO. “Blake, Stuart and Rachel bring great experience and value to the market by prioritizing our clients’ needs and goals. We are grateful to have these three in Huntsville and know they’ll continue to succeed and flourish in their new roles.”

Blake Freeman has worked at ServisFirst Bank since 2013 when he joined the team as a summer intern. Since then, Freeman has excelled during his time at the bank, where he has managed a diverse portfolio of residential development and home construction, multi-family development, and commercial and industrial clients.

Freeman is also a member of the board for the Committee of 100 Young Professionals and the Huntsville/Madison County Auburn Club. He is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County’s Connect Class 21 and Focus Class 36, and he is currently a member of their 2022 Flagship program. Freeman graduated from Auburn University with a degree in finance.

Stuart Whitaker also brings a long history of banking experience and excellence to his new positions as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer. Whitaker has worked in the banking and finance industry since 2013 and joined ServisFirst Bank team in 2018.

Whitaker is currently on the board for the Committee of 100 Young Professionals, including its BizPac Board, and a member of Rotary of Greater Huntsville where he sat on the board as Director of Club Service in 2019. Additionally, he is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County’s Connect Class 22. Whitaker graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2007, studying Recreation Administration and Physical Education.

Rachel Guthrie has been promoted to Assistant Relationship Manager and Bank Officer where she will continue to support commercial and private banking teams with credit underwriting while working more closely with ServisFirst Bank Huntsville’s clients to meet their financial needs. She was instrumental in the success of the Bank’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) process by handling the PPP requests for several larger clients.

Guthrie actively volunteers in the Huntsville/Madison County community by representing ServisFirst Bank as a mentor for the Faith & Finance and Jobs for Life programs through The Cornerstone Initiative. Additionally, she represents ServisFirst Bank by serving on the Community Bank Partners.

Guthrie earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Finance from Auburn University and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of North Alabama.
