The Black Crowes Fly Through Huntsville This Summer
Orion Amphitheater announced that Georgia revivalist rock band The Black Crowes have now been booked for June 16.
Brothers and founding members Chris and Rich Robinson will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their landmark debut “Shake Your Moneymaker” with a full album performance.
The album was originally certified multi-platinum, backed by singles “She Talks to Angels,” “Jealous Again,” “Twice as Hard,” and a cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle.”
The tracks would propel them to the top of Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in 1990 and they opened for ZZ Top on a Miller Beer tour until Robinson harassed the sponsor.
In 1999 Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page joined the band onstage at several shows leading the live album “Live at the Greek.”
The band found success blending southern rock, psychedelic pop, and local contemporaries such as R.E.M. and went on to record eight studio albums and three additional live albums despite a revolving door of band mates.
The remaining members of The Black Crowes re-released “Shake Your Moneymaker” in 2021 with a previously unreleased track entitled “Charming Mess.” The 37-date tour kicked off with a sold out show at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater.
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 25, at 10 am. Visit theorionhuntsville.com for more information.
