Michigan-based Orbital Effects Launches Rocket City Operations

A Michigan-based company is expanding in Huntsville, adding more than two dozen jobs as it establishes a location in the Rocket City.

Orbital Effects brings cutting-edge radar satellite technologies to address the nation’s national security challenges. The company is hiring here, and will bring on 25 people to support its Huntsville operations.

“Orbital Effects is excited to partner with the State of Alabama and City of Huntsville to grow its space-based Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance as a service business,” said Ryan Farris, co-founder and chief financial officer.

“We welcome Orbital Effects to the Rocket City and our growing network of space-related companies
engaged in pioneering technologies,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. “We look forward to more
exciting innovations that help keep us and America safe.”
