Pink Lipstick and Seersucker Suits? Palmetto Moon Brings Southern Style to Huntsville

August 5, 2021/in Lead, News, Retail/by Kimberly Ballard

According to Southern Living magazine, “southern style” is women wearing a dress and pink lipstick to the grocery store. It is monogramed dress shirts and team colors. It is four lightweight fabrics collectively known as southern silk: gingham, seersucker, linen, and eyelet.

Located at Valley Bend at Jones Valley, the store is opening with a two-day southern flair for fun and freebies.

The grand opening is Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features a dj; prizes  with a live deejay; spin-to-win prizes every 15 minutes; giveaways and hourly prizes from brands such as Yeti, Chubbies and Laka; grand prize giveaways including a huge Yeti Tundra Haul and Laka cooler. A Yeti Rambler 12-ounce Colster will be given to the first 200 shoppers each day with a qualifying $30 purchase. Palmetto Moon will also be giving away 100 Palmetto Moon beach bags to the first 100 customers each day.

Palmetto Moon specializes in gifts and merchandise; men’s, women’s and children’s fashion; outdoor apparel; shoes; accessories; collegiate gear; drinkware; and just about anything else the Southern heart desires.

“We’re excited to bring the Palmetto Moon shopping experience to Huntsville and to welcome the community to celebrate with us during our fun-filled grand opening weekend,” said Palmetto Moon Chief Brand Officer Amber Dube.

The 7,300 square-foot department store is designed to be bright and airy with an abundance of natural light with stylized fitting rooms reminiscent of a cozy Southern front porch.

It will highlight dozens of popular brands including Patagonia, Southern Marsh, Hey Dude, Simply Southern, Brumate and Local Boy to name only a few.

“Our new Huntsville location marks an exciting milestone as we’ve expanded to 30 stores across the Southeast, featuring brands and products that celebrate the Southern lifestyle,” said Palmetto Moon Chief Executive Officer John Thomas. “Just like Huntsville is a community like no other, we’re excited to share a distinct shopping experience that is uniquely Southern.”

Palmetto Moon operates 30 locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee.
