Richard Constantine: Merrill Lynch, Financial Advisor and Assistant Vice President

May 8, 2025/in Featured, Lead, News, Top 40/by Sarah Zupko

Richard Constantine, CFP®, CPFA®, is a Huntsville, Alabama native, a Financial Advisor, and Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch in Huntsville. Richard double majored, studying Finance and Data Analytics at Western Kentucky University. Richard was also a member of the Hilltopper Baseball Team.

Richard focuses on helping pre-retirees / retirees develop a Financial Plan to help guide them through retirement, the next generation make educated decisions with their money today to help get them to where they want to be in the future, and high income-earning business owners by implementing Defined Contribution Plans (401(k)’s) and Defined Benefit Plans (Cash Balance Plans).

Richard and his wife, Shelby, enjoy playing golf, pickleball, and traveling to new areas. Richard volunteers at The Miracle League.

What do you love most about living and working in Huntsville?

I am proud to be from Huntsville and contributing to the growth that our great city has seen over the past decade. Huntsville really has turned into a blossoming city, and I cannot wait to see where we will be in the next 10 years.

What’s your best advice for starting a career in the Rocket City?

The Rocket City has attracted a lot of really smart people to our city and to stand out you have to really want to. What I mean by that is you have to wake up and convince yourself to be the best version of yourself each day, keep learning and improving your skills, and never be afraid to ask questions or for advice. People want to help the people who are doing what they can to help their own selves.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

My wife and I enjoy getting outside. I bought her a set of golf clubs for Christmas 2023 and I think that was the best gift I’ve ever bought because now she will come play (if I buy her a Red Gatorade Zero and Hotdog) with me when we have time. We also enjoy playing Pickleball at Sandra Moon and going for walks at John Hunt or through Downtown/the Historic District.

How do you like to give back to the community, and why is it important to you?

As a former college baseball player, sports have always been a big part of my life. They allow people to disconnect from reality for a period of time while being active. The Miracle League in Huntsville is a special needs youth and adult softball league. I enjoy going out there and helping kids and adults play the game I love and tell whatever their special need is to take a backseat for a couple of hours.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career, and what valuable lesson did they teach you?

Both of my parents were Physicians in the Huntsville Hospital System and devoted their careers to helping people with their health. They taught me that the most fulfilling career path is one where you can make a meaningful impact and change someone’s life. I have set off to help people with their wealth and provide confidence and clarity to their unique financial situation.
