Trent Heard: RedHawk Pest Control, Owner

May 28, 2026/in 2026, Entrepreneurs, Featured, Lead, News, Services, Small Business, Top 40/by Sarah Zupko

Trent Heard, a North Alabama native and owner of RedHawk Pest Control, is known for championing local businesses and delivering top-tier pest management. As a founding member of Synergy BNI and a Tradebank ambassador, he also serves on the Board of Influencers for The Cornerstone Initiative and on the Board of Directors for the Greater Ardmore Chamber of Commerce, reflecting his commitment to local community leadership.

What do you love most about living in and working in HSV?

I love meeting people and Huntsville is such a melting pot. I get to meet so many great people and build community with other locals as well as those newer to our area, and that makes the city feel so much smaller and more close knit.

What advice would you give your 22 yr old self?

Stop stressing out over what you can’t control, embrace the career change that you’re about to see because Pest Control (as crazy as it seems) IS the right path for you!

What motivates you on hard days? I genuinely enjoy that my work allows me to truly help others — that makes it fun even on the tough days. I also love to travel and spend time with my two kids.

How do you like to give back to the community & why is it important to you?

I like to give back to the community through my involvement with various organizations such as The Cornerstone Initiative, as well as supporting other small businesses. I’m always willing to offer my experience and collaboration because we can all win together. I have been blessed with support from so many in the community that I want to continue to offer that support back where I can.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I enjoy spending time outdoors and am a very active, avid outdoorsman. I also love to travel and experience new places.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career, and what valuable lesson did they teach you?

RedHawk would not be where we are today if it were not for our amazing customer base, but if I were to nail it down to one person who has probably been the biggest influence on my career it’d be my dad. My dad instilled in me at an early age to always do the right thing, treat people with honesty and integrity and he taught me a hard work ethic. Without those foundational things, I wouldn’t be able to build a reputable business with the continued support that we receive.
