Looking for That Perfect ‘Out-of-the-Ordinary’ Gift? Pimentos is the New Go-To at the Stovehouse
Pimentos, the Athens-based home décor and gift shop is now open for business at the Stovehouse.
For owner Teresa Brodie, Pimentos fulfills her passion to develop strong customer relationships, along with showcasing a wide variety of distinctive merchandise.
The Pimentos business venture arrived at the perfect time for Brodie. After 25 years of working in the corporate world as an accountant, Brodie found herself at an impasse. To stay at her job would mean a move to St. Louis. As an only child, Brodie wanted to remain near her parents in Athens.
Making that leap from the corporate world to small business ownership was a natural progression for Brodie.
“My parents were entrepreneurs,” said Brodie. “I grew up with an appreciation for people operating their own businesses.”
Fast forward six years and Brodie, along with her team, are now opening Pimentos in Gaslight Alley at the Stovehouse.
To Brodie, the Stovehouse is a “dream” location. It will also be the first time Pimentos has been housed in a vibrant mixed-use development with constant visitors, daily foot traffic, and on-site office employees.
There’s a lot to be found at Pimentos—everything from candles to throw pillows and kitchenware line the walls.
The Pimentos crew, Brodie said, pride themselves on being customer-focused; taking time to get to know each customer.
And those customers ultimately become friends.
“We know most of our customers’ children, spouses, friends, and big life events because we build those relationships with each visit,” said Brodie.
