Make Your Nominations for the 36th Annual Small Business Awards

Live from Huntsville! It’s the 36th annual Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards.

That’s right. After last year’s virtual ceremony, the annual affair returns to an in-person event. The deadline to nominate a small business is June 30. To nominate, visit hsvchamber.org/sba-nominate.

063021 SBA nominations.smolHere are the guidelines for nominees:

  • Nominee must be a current Chamber member in good standing.
  • Nominee must be licensed in the State of Alabama.
  • Nominee must be within the required employee count (under 250 employees), including ALL locations.
  • Nominee must have been actively in business a minimum of three years (with a January–October 2018 start date); the only exception is the Emerging Business category.
  • Nominees for the Emerging Business category must have started their business in or before October 2020.
  • Nominees for the Nonprofit of the Year Award must have a current 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6).
  • Nominees for Russell G. Brown Executive Leadership Award must have started, owned/currently own, or served in the capacity of CEO or President for a small business (250 employees or less) for a minimum of 2 years; must not have received this award in the last 10 years; and must be a Chamber Member as of Jan. 1, 2021.
  • Nominees for the Young Professional of the Year Award must: have been employed continually in the Huntsville/Madison County metro area since Jan. 1, 2019; must be 40 years old or younger as of Oct. 31, 2021; and must be currently employed by a Chamber member.
  • Nominee is limited to submit one application in one category. However, all woman or women-owned companies are additionally eligible for the Woman-Owned Business of the Year.
  • Nominees can only submit an application in the category in which they are nominated.
  • Nominee in any category must not have received any of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber Small Business Award(s) in the last three (3) years, excluding Young Professional of the Year or the Russell G. Brown Executive Leadership Award.
