Trader Joe’s Announces Huntsville Opening Date

September 22, 2021/in Lead, Community Development, Development, Featured, News, Workforce Development/by staff reports

Finally, the news that the Huntsville-Madison County community has been waiting for: the Huntsville Trader Joe’s location will open Thursday, September 30.

The store will only be the second location in the entire state of Alabama, behind Birmingham’s location that opened back in 2015.

Trader Joe’s is a national chain of community driven and focused stores. Alongside their core values and their slogan – the best quality products at the best everyday prices – Trader Joe’s is actively involved in interacting with and enhancing the communities that they serve.

Trader Joe’s donates 100% of unsold products to local food drives, totaling to $345 million in donations in 2020, which represents around 69 millions meals. The company’s commitment to this program continues here in Huntsville, where it will donate to local nonprofits and community-based organizations, seven days a week. IMG 8438

Along with donations, Trader Joe’s focuses on providing jobs wherever they establish a new store. In the case for Huntsville, around 90% of the new crew hired for the new store came from the Madison County area.

Alongside Store Captain Jerimy Krepps, the company’s fitting title for their store managers, Trader Joe’s will seek to continue this tradition of community engagement to fit into Huntsville’s goals of development and growth.

The Huntsville location totes 10,000 square feet of space that incorporates flares and nods to the Huntsville-Madison County art scene, which depicts various landmarks around the city. A few examples include the Friendship Bridge in Big Spring Park, the famous Saturn V rocket at the Space and Rocket Center, and the Huntsville Botanical Garden.

The new Trader Joe’s is located at 1100 Mid City Drive NW. The hours of operation are 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.

The doors officially open next Thursday at 9:00am. For more information, please visit https://www.traderjoes.com/home
