Anyone who leases 18 wheelers from Penske Truck Leasing now has a brand new facility on One Aviation Way to act as a one stop shop for all the needs of the company’s customers.

This new facility is partly replacing a current facility in Madison and will be a hub for customers to service rental trucks, carry out contracts and much more.

This new facility offers both consumer and commercial truck rental, full-service truck leasing and contract truck fleet maintenance.

It is also outfitted with the company’s proprietary fully digital and voice-directed preventive maintenance process and connected fleet solutions, a value-added resource to help customers address issues and options related to onboard technology systems (ELDs, telematics, onboard cameras, etc.)

The 25,000-square-feet location will have 25-30 people working at any given time in two different shifts and sits. It also includes truck service bays, an automated wash bay system, and mobile truck lifts.

Branch Manager Jeff Ray spoke at the ribbon cutting and reminisced about the company’s history and the 30 or so trucks to their name when they first came to Madison 20 years ago. That number has now grown to over 500 as they have grown with the transportation industry.

“Take a look at the Rocket City,” Ray continued. “It too has grown into the biggest city in Alabama. So we’re just proud to be here and to be able to represent the city of Huntsville, our associates and give our customers a world class facility where they can be taken care of, and also give our associates a world-class facility where they could be proud to work.”

Senior vice president of Penske’s southeast region Joe Hill also spoke at the celebration and was very conscious in his effort to celebrate the employees who will be working in the facility over the facility itself.

“It’s an amazing feat that we’ve been able to accomplish all of this, but it really is more about the people than the facility, right?” Hill ensured. “We have the technology, we’re on the cutting edge when it comes to zero emission vehicles but none of that really matters if you don’t have the right people so we want to make sure those people are always taken care of.”
