May 21, 2025/in Featured, News, Top 40/by Sarah Zupko

Daniel Gilfrich is a transformational leader in federal construction consulting, bridging digital and physical transformations for the government in Huntsville. He excels in program management, master planning, and organizational change. His leadership in Huntsville brings diverse teams together to drive collaboration, innovation, and progress. He understands not just the mission and complexity of critical projects, but also the talented people behind them.

Daniel loves coaching youth ice hockey—fostering teamwork, discipline, and perseverance in young athletes. As a Deacon in his church, he focuses on building spaces that serve the greater good. As president of Jones Valley Recreation Association, he strives to bring the community together, building long lasting friendships. His ability to bring people together, develop future leaders, and invest in the success of his community is what makes Daniel unique.

What do you love most about living and working in Huntsville?

Huntsville’s greatest strength is its people; they’re smart, caring, welcoming people who are building great things and changing the world.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Any time I’m not at work, I love to be on the ice, whether it’s coaching or playing hockey myself. It is always a great day when you’re on the ice.

How do you like to give back to the community, and why is it important to you?

I love to coach ice hockey, provide facility support for our family’s church, as well as support the local pool (Go JVRA Blue Wave!). Additionally, we focus our company’s community support on having long lasting, continuous, impactful relationships with the Downtown Rescue Mission and the North Alabama Foster Closet.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career, and what valuable lesson did they teach you?

Two of my uncles both worked in construction and taught me the trades, but, more importantly, they taught me to value everyone regardless of position.

Where is your favorite place to relax in Huntsville?

In the summer, there’s no better place to be than Jones Valley Pool. That community has been the heart of what made us fall in love with Huntsville!
