Former Huntsville Remington Plant For Sale

January 28, 2021/in Lead, Manufacturing, News, Real Estate/by staff reports

The former Remington Outdoor plant is up for sale.

B. Riley Real Estate, NAI Global and its Huntsville office NAI Chase Commercial announced the offering.

The 800,000 square-foot facility is going to market unpriced, the announcement said. The vacant properties are available for immediate sale or lease.

Huntsville-based Remington Outdoor opened the plant and its headquarters near Huntsville International Airport in 2014.

Remington, which was based in New York, was lured by nearly $70 million in incentives, including $9.5 million from Huntsville, $2 million from the Madison County Commission and $1 million from the Huntsville Industrial Development Board.

The legendary gunmaker was broken up last year and sold after a bankruptcy auction, in which seven companies won the bidding for pieces of the company’s weapons and ammunition businesses. Sales of Remington’s ammunition and weapons manufacturing business, the Remington brand and others brought some $155 million to be applied against the company’s debts, reports have said.

B. Riley and NAI are serving as co-listing agents in connection with the bankruptcy and asset disposition of Remington Outdoor Co., the announcement said.

The plant was built in 1988 and includes manufacturing, office, laboratory, common area, and distribution space on a 112-acre campus in the Jetplex Industrial Park. The property includes approximately 14 acres of expansion space.
