The Furnish Co: Home Décor Partnered with Community Giving

Home décor and furniture aficionados, it’s time to mark your calendars for a big warehouse event!

Despite a variety of supply chain setbacks and delivery logjams, Kim Aube and Mandy Pfeifer, owners of The Furnish Co. Local Design and Décor, are ready to roll out their first warehouse-style sales event July 24

The Furnish Co. specializes in all things related to home décor. The company purchases its inventory direct from manufacturers. Their 12,000 square-foot warehouse is next to the old Limestone Flea Market on U.S. 72, about three miles west of Madison Hospital.

Pfeifer came up with The Furnish Co. idea in January. Pfeifer persuaded Aube to come on board.

Aube really liked the idea; it didn’t take much convincing for her to come onboard.

“We both have a passion for home décor, creating inviting spaces in our homes, inviting people into our homes, and creating that sense of community,” said Pfeifer. “We had seen other business models in different cities doing furniture warehouse type sales and they were having great success with it.”

Pfeifer came up with the name “Furnish” because of what it represents, she said. The word means ‘to supply someone with something, give something to someone, be a source of, or to provide.”

The Furnish Co. is a business with a mission – to be a much-needed resource for youths who are aging out of the Madison County foster system.

Every year, more than 20,000 youths age out; many of these teens and young adults lack a reliable support system or the resources to transition into adulthood. There’s a high risk for drug abuse or to become victims of trafficking.

The Furnish Co. is partnering with Make it Matter: The Collective, a local nonprofit, which provides resources, mentoring, and teaching life skills. A portion of every purchase made at The Furnish Co. will support Make it Matter.

The inaugural warehouse sales will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. July 24. Along with the furniture sales, there will be an assortment of vendors, such as Pure Joy Plant, Noella’s Flower Truck, Free Thought Coffee Company, Meltdown Ice Cream, and, the mainstay of food trucks, El Cazador.

Those interested in coming to shop are advised to come early and to bring a truck or a trailer to haul those large pieces of furniture home.
