Freedom Real Estate Opens New Tenant Building

October 15, 2021/in Development, Engineering, News, Real Estate, Technology/by Noah Logan

Freedom Real Estate & Capital celebrated with their newest tenants during a ribbon cutting ceremony of a new multi-use building located at 4040 Chris Drive.

Representatives from Invariant Corporation and Torch Technologies were also present at the ceremony which took place on September 30 at the recently-developed property.

The new complex totals 92,000 square feet to accommodate the new tenants with the potential to expand and another. The structure features a mix of office space, research and development lab, light manufacturing, assembly  and integration space along with a high bay.

The development was able to successfully meet its targeted completion date set last April and avoided any major setbacks from the  COVID-19 pandemic.

Huntsville-Madison County Chamber Board Chair Jeff Gronberg started the event and introduced leaders from three companies including Freedom Real Estate CEO Bill Roark, Invariant President David Anderson and Torch Technologies President and CEO John Watson.

Invariant, an engineering, systems integration, and software development company, was founded in Huntsville in 2001. The company is expanding into the new facility after two decades of growth and expansion. Company president David expressed his excitement about the new location at the ceremony.

“We are excited to grow and expand into this new facility that will provide our employees the resources needed to ensure quality services and products are delivered to our customers, and we are proud to be a part of Huntsville’s continuing success,” stated  Anderson.

Torch, a 100% employee-owned services and solutions defense contractor, is adding its sixth location to the company’s Huntsville headquarters since it was founded in 2002.

This is the third time Torch has partnered with Freedom Real Estate in the last six years.

Torch President and CEO John Watson expressed his satisfaction with Freedom during his remarks.

“All three (Torch and Freedom partnerships) have been instrumental in the continued growth of Torch. The Freedom Center serves as the central gathering hub for our more than 850 Huntsville-based employee-owners and their customers; TIPC provides the specialized space needed for our electrical, mechanical, optical, and robotic prototyping efforts; and this facility will provide the much-needed space for limited production of Torch-developed hardware.”

The companies sharing the development have both received local and national acclaim.

Invariant was named a Silver winner of the Best Places to Work in Huntsville award in 2019.

Torch was ranked on the Inc. 5000 list for the fifteenth consecutive year in 2021. In 2016, the company was also named one of America’s Best Small Companies by Forbes.

“We are happy to be part of the Huntsville community and are excited to be part of this rebirth of South Huntsville,” said Bill Roark, co-founder and CEO of Freedom. Roark added, “We are excited for our community’s continued growth and success to come.”
