ALDOT announces U.S. 72 resurfacing to begin next week

The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that nighttime resurfacing of U.S. 72 in Huntsville and Madison will begin the evening of Tuesday, April 19, weather permitting. 

The $4.7 million project will resurface about seven miles of U.S. 72, from County Line Road to Alabama 255/Research Park Boulevard. Wiregrass Construction will begin by milling to remove old pavement on the eastbound roadway from County Line Road. 

Lane closures will be possible from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, Sunday nights through Thursday nights/Friday mornings. Motorists are advised to expect some delays to evening travel.
