Huntsville’s Invariant Corporation secures over $200M in defense contracts

October 23, 2024/in Defense, Engineering, Featured, Lead, Military, News, Technology/by Gus Wintzell

Invariant Corporation, based in Huntsville, has been awarded a series of high-value contracts from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Advanced Technology International (AMTC), and the Naval Energetic Systems and Technologies (NEST), collectively amounting to more than $200 million.

These contracts will see Invariant leverage its expertise in modeling and simulation, optics, hardware, and software development to deliver advanced defense solutions.

In July, Invariant was awarded a three-year, $100 million Indefinite Delivery Requirement (IDR) contract by the DLA.

This contract focuses on the development and support of systems related to the Multi-Use Launcher Electronics (MULE) platform, which provides a versatile launcher interface capable of deploying various munitions—including missiles and rockets—from both ground and air platforms.

The MULE platform is expected to significantly enhance operational flexibility.

In September, Invariant secured a $94.5 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract from AMTC. This contract will support the development of advanced component technologies, designed to optimize performance through man-on-the-loop control of diverse systems and munitions.

The prototypes developed under this contract are expected to improve precision targeting while reducing operator workload, further highlighting Invariant’s strength in modeling and simulation technology.

The company continued its momentum in October, securing an additional $6 million contract under its existing NEST partnership to deliver more STAKE systems. These systems are crucial for helping soldiers detect and neutralize Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) threats.

Invariant began collaborating with the U.S. Navy in September 2023.

“These awards underscore Invariant’s commitment to advancing defense technology,” said David Anderson, President of Invariant Corporation. “We are excited to continue working closely with the Department of Defense to deliver innovative solutions that enhance mission effectiveness and ensure our soldiers are equipped with cutting-edge tools.”

Invariant’s ability to secure these significant contracts reflects its dedication to providing comprehensive and state-of-the-art defense solutions. The company’s focus on developing and integrating new technologies ensures that the Department of Defense continues to benefit from superior engineering and software capabilities.
