Downtown Huntsville, Inc. launches digital gift card to support local businesses

November 13, 2024/in Community Development, Economy, Featured, Lead, News, Retail, Small Business/by Gus Wintzell

Downtown Huntsville, Inc. (DHI) has introduced the Downtown Explorer Card, a new digital gift card aimed at supporting local dining, retail, and entertainment venues in Downtown Huntsville.

Partnering with Yiftee, a leader in community e-gift card solutions, DHI has created a convenient way for both residents and visitors to explore and enjoy the diverse businesses downtown while boosting the local economy.

The Downtown Explorer Card can be purchased online and is redeemable at a growing number of participating downtown establishments.

Cardholders can use it just like a regular credit card, providing a seamless and flexible way to shop, dine, and experience all that Downtown Huntsville offers, while ensuring their spending benefits local businesses.

“The Downtown Explorer Card is a great way to support our local community. It makes discovering and enjoying the unique shops, restaurants, and venues in Downtown Huntsville easy and accessible, and it keeps dollars circulating within our economy,” said Rob Buddo, President and CEO of DHI.

The digital gift card can be used at multiple locations until the balance is exhausted, allowing cardholders to explore a range of options with one payment method. It’s a straightforward process to purchase and use—customers simply buy the card online and enter the card number when paying at participating businesses.

“This card is ideal for the holiday season, whether as a gift for friends and family or as a special token for employees,” added Buddo. “It’s a unique way to give the gift of choice, letting recipients create their own experiences while supporting local merchants.”

Participating businesses benefit from increased exposure and new customer visits, with minimal setup required—only a unique code from Yiftee’s platform. DHI will also actively promote the card and the list of participating businesses to maximize community engagement.
