Twenty Lakes Holdings, ARCO/Murray set to revive former Remington Outdoors plant site

January 31, 2024/in Community Development, Construction, Development, Events, Featured, Lead, Manufacturing, News/by Noah Logan

Twenty Lakes Holdings and ARCO/Murray National held a groundbreaking ceremony for their newest Huntsville project, Remington Trail Warehouses, on Tuesday morning. Located at the site of the old Remington Outdoors plant site, Remington Trail Warehouses will consist of two newly built warehouses totaling over 400,000 square feet.

The “North Building” warehouse will span 114,000 feet upon completion while the “South Building” will be even larger at almost 350,000 square feet.

“Twenty Lakes saw the opportunity at this wonderful site and the vision was this: We need to create a more highly desirable leasable space for this community by maximizing the use of different land providing the utmost flexibility of the buildings, all while managing the dollar. After full evaluation and hyper fierce focus on that vision, we’re constructing two buildings here,” said ARCO/Murray Vice President Rod Zamparo.

“In collaboration with Twenty Lakes, we’ll proudly lead the design and construction on the cutting edge buildings here at the site of the former Remington outdoors in this prime location,” continued Zamparo. “We’re excited about the challenges the site brings and we’re eager to deliver a successful development. Huntsville is a fast growing market with many development opportunities such as this one.”

Twenty Lakes Holdings President Joe Miller was also on hand to give short remarks at the ceremony and said that of the 40 different states they operate in “Huntsville is our favorite city.”

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle was present at the ceremony along with Richard Bigoney of the Huntsville/Madison Chamber of Commerce.

“The Huntsville / Madison Chamber is very appreciative that you allow us to be part of their ceremony,” said Bigoney. “We thank you for your investment in the community. The chamber is about growing the area and helping our local companies grow and this is a great way to do that. So thank you very much for being here.”

The construction will be overseen by Project Manager DeMarco Gatti. Twenty Lakes Holdings purchased the property for $25 million back in 2021 and will aim to bring stability to a site that has been vacant since Remington Outdoors declared chapter 13 bankruptcy back in 2014.

The company opened the plant along with new company headquarters at the site in 2014 after $70 million of incentives from Huntsville and Madison County brought them to Huntsville. Incentive funding was recovered through sale of the property.
