The Cheesecake Factory Opens For Business

October 27, 2021/in Featured, Community Development, Food, News, Workforce Development/by Dawn Suiter

With the grand opening of Bridge Street’s newest restaurant Tuesday, October 26, Huntsville officially became the home of the state’s second location of The Cheesecake Factory.

Long lines of excited customers eagerly awaited the opportunity to sample some of the eatery’s many menu items in its spacious, attractive dining room at Bridge Street in the former location of Cantina Laredo, directly opposite P.F. Chang’s.IMG 8772

The Cheesecake Factory public relations representative Alethea Rowe stated that it was more than time to bring a second location to Alabama following the opening of its first restaurant in Birmingham 18 years ago.

Rowe noted that Huntsville’s growth drove the decision, adding that Bridge Street is a destination shopping center with a great property and beautiful space that draws visitors from all over.

According to Area Director Andy Sick, “It’s been years in the waiting for us so it’s great to be part of the community.”

When asked what makes this restaurant unique, Rowe cited its extensive menu with 250 items made fresh and from scratch in the kitchen, as well as over 30 cheesecakes.

In addition, the location created jobs for 280 staff member. Rowe stated that this crew, “hand-selected to be the best of the best,” will treat customers with the greatest hospitality.

Prior to opening, The Cheesecake Factory staff and management participated in a high-energy alignment meeting, a “pep rally” meeting designed to put the staff into a positive mindset.

Rowe stated that this meeting, which takes place before every shift, was particularly special today with awards given to employees who went above and beyond during training and cash bonuses presented to those who provided employee referrals.

As management prepared to open the doors, crew members’ excitement matched that of the large, eager crowd waiting outside.

Huntsville and Madison residents’ efforts to bring nationally recognized chains to the area are increasingly paying off. The Cheesecake Factory’s arrival in Huntsville provides further indication of the city’s upward growth trajectory and a promise of more to come.
