What do you love most about living and working in Huntsville?

Huntsville is home in every sense of the word. My family is rooted here, and even those who leave often find their way back. It is a city with a proud history that continues to grow by attracting some of the brightest minds in the country. The mountains, waters, and green spaces around the city give Huntsville a character that reminds me that meaningful work and a beautiful life can exist in the same place.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

A piece of advice that has stuck with me is that your career is a long game. At 22, it is easy to feel like every decision defines your future, but what matters most is consistency, curiosity, and the relationships you build along the way.

What motivates you on hard days?

I often think about the example I am setting for my daughters and hope they grow up seeing what it looks like to push through difficult moments and keep going. That perspective motivates me on hard days. People depend on me to stay steady and keep forward motion, both as a leader at work and a mother at home.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work, I am happiest at home with my family, though many weekends you can find me around Huntsville with a coffee in hand, wandering through estate sales and antique stores. It is amazing what you can stumble across in a city with so much history.

How do you like to give back to the community, and why is it important to you?

Giving back has always been a part of my life, something I learned growing up in a family that believed in supporting our community, especially local schools and youth programs. Through my work today, I help lead efforts that support education initiatives, STEM programs, food drives, and organizations serving veterans and underserved families. The most rewarding part is finding thoughtful ways to create real impact for the people behind those causes.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career, and what valuable lesson did they teach you?

My boss, Vergenia Shelton, has had the greatest influence on my career. She leads with empathy and authenticity and earns both trust and respect from the people around her. Watching her lead a demanding organization while raising three children has shown me that you do not have to choose between being a strong leader and having a full life at home.
