WEDC Accepting Applications for 2026 Membership Class

The Women’s Economic Development Council of Huntsville (WEDC) has opened applications for its 2026 membership class.

Membership in WEDC is by invitation. Applicants must demonstrate leadership experience and community involvement, attend at least three Leadership Development Meetings within the previous year and obtain sponsorship from a current member. Candidates must also meet at least one of the organization’s eligibility requirements:

  • Business owner/entrepreneur 
  • Business executive or mid-level manager with supervisory and/or other significant responsibilities
  • Degreed or licensed professional
  • Retired woman who previously belonged to one of the above categories
  • A candidate that has successfully completed the WEDC Milestones Program 

The Board will consider exceptional candidates who do not fall into another category, for example, women serving in public office.

Key Dates:

Application Period: Open Now – August 15, 2026

Sponsorship Declaration Deadline: August 15, 2026

Final Application Deadline: August 31, 2026

Applications will be reviewed by the WEDC Membership Committee and Board of Directors, with acceptance notifications scheduled for October 12, 2026. New members will be inducted in November.
