Valentina’s General Manager Camryn Suggs makes Pizza Expo history with dual international titles

Valentina’s Pizzeria and Wine Bar is proud to announce that General Manager Camryn Suggs has made history on the international stage, earning first place in both the Traditional and Non-Traditional divisions at the prestigious Las Vegas International Pizza Expo. The competition featured more than 110 competitors in each division, with highly skilled pizzaioli traveling from around the world to compete at the highest level of the craft. Suggs’ dual victory is a landmark achievement, as she is the first competitor in the event’s history to win both divisions in the same year.

This milestone comes in just her third year competing, further solidifying Suggs’ reputation as one of the industry’s rising stars. Over the past three years, she has consistently demonstrated her talent and dedication, placing in the top three each year she has competed. Behind those results is an immense level of commitment — countless hours spent refining technique, testing recipes, and studying the craft, all while balancing the demands of leading a restaurant team day in and day out.

As General Manager, Suggs brings that same discipline and passion into Valentina’s daily operations, setting the standard for excellence both in the kitchen and on the floor. Her ability to manage, mentor, and lead her team while continuing to train and compete at an elite level speaks to her work ethic and drive. Whether she’s preparing for competition or ensuring every guest experience meets the highest standard, Suggs approaches every aspect of her role with focus, precision, and pride.

“Camryn’s ability to honor tradition while pushing boundaries is what sets her apart,” said Joe Carlucci, owner of Valentina’s Pizzeria and Wine Bar. “To compete against the best in the world and come out on top in multiple categories is something you rarely see. What she’s accomplished is nothing short of extraordinary, and we’re proud to have her leading our team.”

Suggs’ wins highlight her versatility as a pizzaiola, excelling in both classic, technique-driven styles and innovative, contemporary creations. Guests can experience her award-winning approach firsthand at Valentina’s Pizzeria and Wine Bar in Madison, Alabama, where she continues to lead with passion, precision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
