‘Hear to Be Seen 3’ project seeks collaboration of musicians and photographers
Seeking images that “explore identity, artistry, and connection through the power of collaboration,” the “Hear to Be Seen” project returns for its third year.
“Hear to Be Seen 3: Connect, Collaborate, Create” invites photographers and musicians from the area to collaborate on original photographic work celebrating North Alabama’s music scene.
The event also serves as the official kickoff to Huntsville Music Month and continues “Hear to Be Seen”’s mission of making local artists visible through compelling visual storytelling.
According to organizers, artists are encouraged to find a collaborator and create images that celebrate the identity, artistry, and connection that define North Alabama’s music community. Organizers urge collaborations with artists featured on the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library’s BLAST Music platform.
The open call runs to Aug. 3 and is open to photographers and musicians ages 16 and older, including professionals, amateurs and hobbyists. A panel will select 28 images which will be professionally printed and framed for the exhibition by the organizers.
The exhibition is Sept. 2 from 5-8 p.m. at The Orion Amphitheater. Following the opening reception, the exhibition will be shown in other venues, including City Hall and the Huntsville Museum of Art.
