Defense contract roundup: Radiance Technologies wins position on $14B MSIC COMET contract

Radiance Technologies has been selected as an awardee on the $14 billion Contract Operations for Missile Evaluation and Testing (COMET) multi-award task order contract supporting the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC).  

The MSIC is in the Richard C. Shelby Center for Missile Intelligence on Redstone Arsenal.

In other contract awards announced by the Department of Defense, Griffon Aerospace won a contract for its Outlaw UAS system, Torch Technologies received a contract for missile tech support and Turner Construction is on an Air Force contract.

“This win belongs to our employee-owners,” said Radiance Technologies CEO Bill Bailey. “They built the technical intelligence expertise that got us here, and now they get to put it to work on a mission that’s right in our backyard. 

“We’re excited to keep supporting MSIC and the vital work they do for the warfighter.”

Under the contract, Radiance, a 100% employee-owned prime contractor, will provide research, development, and sustainment services for new and existing hardware, software, and systems that are foundational to military intelligence.

It carries a 10-year period of performance through Jan. 1, 2037. 

Other contract awards:

  • Griffon Aerospace won a $17,515,469 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for Outlaw communication subcomponents and training.
    The work has an estimated completion date of Feb. 28, 2027.
    The Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity.
  • Torch Technologies was awarded an $11,998,386 contract modification for missile systems technical support.
    The work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 3, 2027.

  • Turner Construction is among eight companies on a $900 million ceiling, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price Air Force contract for facilities acquisitions for restoration and modernization III.
    The contracts provide for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, data systems, and controls, and design-build projects for military ground testing facilities.
    The work is expected to be completed by Sep. 4, 2034.
