MAD Security meets cyber challenges in defending businesses from evil

Inside a nondescript brick building in Cummings Research Park is an army of “soldiers” defending the country and businesses from cyber invasion.

On Wednesday, MAD Security cut the ribbon on its operations center, revealing its mission to visiting civic officials and customers.

And, its mission is basic.

“We defend those that defend the mission,” said CEO Jeremy Conway. 

MAD Security is a Managed Security Services Provider that combines technology, services, support, and training to simplify the cybersecurity challenge. 

The company provides services and expertise to defense industry-based contractors, aviation and aerospace companies, government contractors, financial institutions, technology services companies, higher education institutes, and manufacturing entities to manage risk, meet compliance requirements, and reduce costs. 

“We defend our businesses from evil,” said Finance Director Kerri Rantala.

“Our goal is to be the best security operations company,” Conway said. “This is a 24/7 security operations center.

“We always have somebody in this building doing the work.”

The company is “unique” in the defense industry base, he said.

 

“Last week, we officially became a CTPO,” Conway said. “We are not an assessment company, we are a service company.

“We are CMMC Level 2 Certified, a CMMC RPO – we are unique in the defense industry base.”

According to Conway, MAD Security “planted its flag in Huntsville” when it moved from its Richmond headquarters in 2018 to be closer to its customer base.

“There’s so much going on … just the synergy going on here,” he said.

“It represents MAD Security’s investments in people and the clients we serve,” said Vice President of Sales Glen Gravelle. “MAD Security is proud to call Huntsville home.”

The company is also heavily involved in the community and Wednesday’s event produced an example of that.

MAD Security joined the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering as a partner in education with a $100,000 donation.

“We’ve got the world’s best SOC with the world’s best cyber school,” said ASCTE President Matt Massey during the check presentation.

“We try to walk the walk and not talk so much,” said Conway.
