City, Designers Asking for John Hunt Skatepark Feedback
An online meeting last month resulted in several ideas about Huntsville’s planned John Hunt Skatepark.
Now, the city and skatepark designers want to hear from the public on this new project. An online survey is available at https://s.surveyplanet.com/
Huntsville residents and skateboarding enthusiasts from across the region took part in the virtual meeting to share and discuss ideas for the new John Hunt Skatepark. The facility will span three acres between Kids Space and the championship soccer fields at John Hunt Park. It is tentatively scheduled to open next summer.
During the virtual design input meeting, Team Pain, one of the prominent skatepark design companies in the world, shared vision ideas and took feedback from participants about what the new park design could feature.
The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville is raising money to help pay for the project, which is expected to cost approximately $4 million. An anonymous $1 million donation helped begin the fundraising this year.
