It’s Wheels Up for New Breeze Airways at HSV; Introductory Non-Stop Flights for $39

Huntsville International Airport welcomes new low-cost carrier Breeze Airways to its lineup with introductory $39 non-stop flights to Charleston, S.C., and New Orleans beginning July 15; and to Tampa starting July 22.

HBJBreezeLogoAccording to founder and CEO David Neeleman, who also started Jet Blue, the “Low Fare, High Flex” airline is unveiling its debut network, comprising 39 nonstop routes between 16 cities in the Southwest, Midwest, Southeast and Eastern U.S. Huntsville is one of the first 10 cities, currently not served, to originate in Tampa.

“These 16 cities are just the beginning for Breeze,” Neeleman said. “The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nation’s air service have meant many secondary and tertiary markets have seen a significant reduction in flights. There are so many city pairs needing nonstop service around the country, we have a further 100 cities under consideration.

“Flying nonstop, Breeze will get you there in half the time, but also for about half the price.”

The “Seriously Nice” airline, Breeze Airways offers point-to-point flights from smaller secondary airports, bypassing hubs resulting in shorter travel times.

Breeze plane“This is a historic moment for our community as newly launched low-cost Breeze Airways has selected Huntsville International Airport as one of their first cities,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. “Huntsville is a hot bed for economic development and Breezes’ entry adds a quality-of-life amenity to enhance travel opportunities for both leisure and business travelers in our region.

“This is just the beginning for Breeze, and we look forward to supporting and growing our newest airline – the best is yet to come.”

With no change or cancellation fees, up to 24 months of reusable flight credit, and customized flight features, Breeze said its mission is to make the world of travel simple, affordable, and convenient, using technology, ingenuity, and kindness to improve the travel experience.

“Breeze Airways and its low-cost fares is a welcomed addition to our market,” said Mark McDaniel, chairman of the Huntsville International Airport Board of Directors. “With our community’s excellent innovative track record of success – Breeze will quickly become a vital and important part of our community.”

Breeze will operate Embraer aircraft which seat 108 passengers in a two-by-two configuration. That means there are no middle seats.

Seat assignments start from $10, but family seating is free for families traveling with children 12 and under. The charge to travel with a pet in the cabin is $75.

Streaming inflight entertainment to personal devices will be available on each flight.

“We are very thrilled to be a part of the launch of a new U.S. airline – Breeze Airways – and chosen as one of the initial sixteen airports for its service launch,” said airport CEO Rick Tucker. “Our community will have access to introductory low fares of $39 one-way and new non-stop destinations that our passengers are eager to travel to. Breeze Airlines will offer no change fees, no cancellations fees mixed with a great airline customer service experience.

“We are certain that our community will respond to the new ‘Seriously Nice’ and low fare air service by taking advantage of the flexibility offered by flying and supporting Breeze Airways.”

Travelers can book flights at www.flybreeze.com. Fares start at $39 one way on select flights and must be purchased by June 1 for travel through Feb. 15, 2022. Seating is limited.

“We make it easy to buy and easy to fly,” said Neeleman.
