Venardos Circus Kicks Off Fall Entertainment at MidCity This Week
The Vernardos Circus kicks off a series of entertainment venues coming to MidCity this fall.
Started as the Little Circus with Big Dreams at the Los Angeles County Fair in 2014, the Vernardos Circus debuted to a sold-out audience at Huntsville’s MidCity District this weekend.
Created by former Ringling Bros. Ringmaster Kevin Vernardos, the Broadway-style circus musical continues this week, Wednesday through Sunday, October 13-17. Showtimes are from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 pm.
The animal-free circus musical featuring only human talent, pays homage to the American circus tradition and is choreographed to attract theatre lovers and nostalgic circus fans with high-quality entertainment for a modern family audience. There is pre-show entertainment and plenty of singing, dancing, contortion, aerial acts, clowns, physical comedy, and more.
Classic circus treats like popcorn, cotton candy, and lemonade are available.
You can’t miss the big 90-foot by 60-foot red and white striped tent in the MidCity parking lot at 5909 University Drive this week. Comfortably seating 350 people, it is waterproof and designed to withstand 90 mph winds, providing a safe and cozy performance space, cooled or heated, to accommodate the weather.
Conditions have been adjusted to meet local school district COVID-19 protocols. Wearing a mask is encouraged except when eating or drinking, and all cast and crew of the circus have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Tickets start at $16.50 for kids and $26.50 for adults. Tickets are selling fast. Go to www.venardoscircus.com/huntsville for more information and to pre-purchase tickets.
