Huntsville Energy Company Making a Green, Global Impact with New Partnership
Capstone Green Energy Corporation, a global leader in carbon reduction and on-site resilient energy solutions, announced that they have entered into a supply agreement with Huntsville-based Global RAIS Energy & Storage Solutions as its solar photovoltaic (PV) partner for the growing commercial and industrial microgrid market.
Global RAIS, located at 2905 Westcorp Blvd., Suite 213, will partner with Capstone to provide it with modular, low-voltage, DC to DC solar PV kits for use in Capstone’s commercial and industrial-focused microgrid solutions.
Global RAIS sets itself apart from the competition by providing safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective kit-based PV systems, and thanks to Huntsville’s innovative thinkers, energy suppliers around the globe will now have access to a safer, more efficient, and more affordable way to reduce their carbon footprint.
Capstone Green Energy will be using Global RAIS’s APEX II DUO system, which offers a robust suite of advantages over conventional solar systems at a competitive price. These include high power density per square foot of rooftop, redundant systems, battery-charging and power storage capabilities, reliable and robust construction, and safe and easy maintenance.
In addition, the Global RAIS systems can operate independently without the need for a grid connection but offer the command and control of arrays and inverters for both microgrid and grid-connected systems. This feature is key for Capstone’s remote hospitality, telecom, and oil and gas customers.
Global RAIS Energy & Storage Solutions solar technology has been deployed at almost 3,000 installations worldwide since 2008, and this new partnership will further strengthen Huntsville’s reputation as a driving force for technological leadership.
“We are pleased that Capstone Green Energy has chosen our Global RAIS technology as the solar PV cornerstone of their commercial and industrial microgrid strategy and look forward to supporting their continued growth in this worldwide market,” said Greg Cox, the co-Founder and President of Global RAIS.
Cox is a retired UAH Senior Research Scientist and a resident of Huntsville since the late 1960s. “We chose to make Huntsville the global headquarters of Global RAIS because of the long tradition of science and technology innovation present here,” he stated.
Cox also served as an original member of the “Green 13,” Mayor Tommy Battle’s 2010 task force that spent nearly a year crafting a 101-page energy and environmental sustainability blueprint for elected leaders. “Our cutting-edge low voltage, ultra-safe, and resilient solar PV technology is exactly the kind of product one would expect Huntsville to produce.”
