Drake State to Host Free Financial Aid Workshop for High School and College Students

‘Tis the season for completing cumbersome financial aid paperwork for the fall.

The same time each year, millions of students apply for financial aid in hopes of receiving funds to offset the cost of attending college. One of the biggest obstacles they face is the daunting Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, known by many as the FAFSA

The acronym alone can evoke a cringe-worthy response in many. Accurately completing the paperwork is both time-intensive and requires that the applicants provide many financial details. It’s easily one of the biggest college-based paperwork headaches faced by students and their families alike.

To help offset some of the stress in completing the FAFSA, Drake State Community and Technical College will provide free financial aid help to high school seniors, prospective Drake State students, and current college students. Financial aid staff members will be on hand to work directly with families to help them complete the FAFSA and answer any questions they may have.

There are two available workshops on Tuesday, February 22nd – A morning session at 9 a.m. and an afternoon session at 1 p.m.

These workshops will take place in the S.C. O’Neal Library, Room 112 on the Drake State Community and Technical College campus at 3421 Meridian St N, Huntsville, AL 35811

Students and families are required to bring their current tax information. Appointments are not required, and walk-ins are welcome.
