HUNTSVILLE, AL – Mauldin & Jenkins announced that it will acquire Huntsville’s MDG Professional Group, P.C. (MDG), a full-service accounting firm in Huntsville, Alabama.

Effective January 1, 2023, the transaction further expands Mauldin & Jenkins’ presence in the North Alabama region and represents the second acquisition in the Huntsville area for the rapidly growing firm in just two years.

MDG provides auditing, accounting, tax and consulting services to individuals and businesses. The firm is managed by Ralph Dowdy, CPA, one of the firm’s founders.

Bringing over 40 years of experience in public accounting, Dowdy joins Mauldin & Jenkins as a partner, along with Larry Gilley, Stephen Moore, and Regina McDaniel.

“Joining Mauldin & Jenkins is a great opportunity for us. I’m excited about the benefits this new partnership offers for our clients as well as our team,” Dowdy said in a recent press statement. “MDG has always focused on delivering stellar service along with the highest level of expertise to meet our client’s needs. Mauldin & Jenkins has a culture of excellence and commitment to service that fits perfectly with our firm culture and the reputation for excellence we’ve earned over the years.”

Hanson Borders, Managing Partner of Mauldin & Jenkins, is pleased to welcome the MDG team and is enthusiastic about the opportunities this combination will bring to the North Alabama market.

“It is a great combination that strengthens both firms and offers new opportunities for clients and employees. MDG brings the same focus on excellence and outstanding client service that distinguishes Mauldin & Jenkins. Their experienced team augments our deep bench of diverse professionals and provides additional value for clients while maintaining a consistent firm culture,” said Borders.

Following the acquisition, Mauldin & Jenkins has approximately $95 million in total revenue and over 450 total employees.
