Samantha (Sam) Nielsen, Von Braun Center Top 40 Under 40

Samantha Nielsen (Sam) is the Marketing and Public Relations Director at the Von Braun Center. She earned her BS in Communication with a focus in Journalism, and a minor in Professional Writing from the University of North Alabama. Throughout her career, Sam has grown in the hospitality sector of the Huntsville market by transitioning from locally-owned radio station WRSA Mix 96.9, to the Port of Huntsville, the Huntsville Museum of Art and finally to the Von Braun Center.

While developing her career path, she has endeavored to establish and maintain meaningful relationships and partnerships throughout the community. Her passion for Huntsville and all it has to offer residents and travelers fuels the excitement she holds for her profession of promoting travel and tourism to Huntsville-Madison County.

Sam lives in northeast Huntsville with her husband Matthew, their toddler Oliver, and their two rescue pups Annabelle and Mocha. She currently volunteers as secretary for the Huntsville-Madison County Hospitality Association Board of Directors. Additionally, Sam dedicates her free time towards helping relieve the financial burden from public school teachers by supporting local non-profit Free 2 Teach, where she proudly holds the title of Immediate Past Chair.

Sam is a member of Leadership Greater Huntsville’s Connect-25 class and continues looking for ways to deepen her involvement with the Huntsville-Madison County community.
