Bank Independent and Helping Hands Foundation celebrate success of 10th Annual Food Share Drive

June 27, 2024/in Banking, Charities, Community Development, Featured, Finance, Lead, News, Nonprofits, Success/by Gus Wintzell

Bank Independent and the Helping Hands Foundation announced the successful conclusion of their 10th Annual Food Share Drive.

With support from the north Alabama community, the drive raised $1,000 for each partner organization and delivered over 300 items directly to them.

“We are immensely proud of the success of the 10th Annual Food Share Drive and deeply grateful for our community’s support,” said Macke Mauldin, President and CEO of Bank Independent. “This drive highlights the power of community unity in aiding those in need. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed. Your generosity has positively impacted many families.”

Running from April 29 to May 17, the drive aimed to combat food insecurity by supporting local organizations across the seven counties served by Bank Independent. Community members donated both money and items from Amazon Wishlists tailored for each partner organization.

These contributions remained within local communities, directly benefiting families in need.

“We are delighted with the success of this year’s Food Share Drive and its positive impact on our community,” said Hallie Mauldin, Community Engagement Leader at Bank Independent. “This year, we implemented several changes to make it more convenient for people to give, such as setting up Amazon Wishlists for each partner organization, allowing items to be shipped directly to them. We learned a lot from these changes and are incredibly proud of the results.”

The partner organizations that received the donations include:

  • Help Center of Florence
  • Franklin County DHR
  • The Meal Barrel Project
  • Limestone County DHR
  • Neighborhood Christian Center
  • Manna House in Huntsville
  • Downtown Rescue Mission

Bank Independent has a long-standing commitment to fighting hunger within the communities it serves.

By partnering with these local organizations, the bank ensures that the donations are used effectively to support families in need.
