PDW secures contract to supply flagship technology to U.S. Army
PDW has announced its selection to provide its flagship C100 Group 2 small unmanned aerial system (sUAS) in support of the U.S. Army’s Directed Requirement for Company-Level sUAS. The C100 system will be deployed to Army units, enhancing fire and maneuver capabilities in near-peer and contested environments.
The C100 sUAS meets the Army’s medium-range reconnaissance (MRR) needs, offering a versatile, soldier-portable vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) system. It supports a wide range of missions, including reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, communications relay, and kinetic and non-kinetic payload delivery.
Designed for flexibility, the C100 provides extended endurance and payload capacity for dismounted, mounted, or airborne units, offering robust performance in demanding operational conditions.
“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire PDW team,” said Ryan Gury, CEO and Co-founder of PDW. “Quadcopters are transforming the battlefield with their agility, precision, and tactical versatility. The C100 empowers maneuver units with decentralized capabilities, reducing the need for external fire support and allowing for more autonomous operations. We are honored to support the Army’s Company-Level sUAS requirements with this game-changing technology.”
Weighing just 21 pounds and compact enough to fit in a rucksack, the C100 sUAS enables units to deploy their own air support, conduct precision strikes, and gather critical intelligence—without relying on manned aircraft or external resources.
Its lightweight, rugged design offers rapid deployment and operational flexibility, making it an ideal solution for Army units operating in dynamic combat environments.
PDW is recognized for its cutting-edge defense innovations, ranging from tactical, jam-resistant communication platforms developed in collaboration with U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to advanced simulation software that enhances operator training and mission planning.
The company is also known for developing NDAA-compliant FPV combat systems, pushing the boundaries of small robotics in defense.
“PDW is delivering the decisive capabilities that give warfighters a critical advantage, providing the tools needed to succeed and survive in the most demanding environments,” said General (Ret.) Tony Thomas, former Commander of SOCOM and PDW Chairman of the Board.
Gury added, “The C100 system marks a significant leap in the transformation of modern maneuver forces. As small robotics continue to play an increasingly vital role in warfare, PDW is proud to be at the forefront of this defense technology renaissance.”
