Bank Independent has announced that Jessica Diaz, Vice President and Director of Learning & Development, has been named Assistant School Director for the Alabama Banking School. In this role, Diaz will support the Chairman and School Director in overseeing school operations.

“We’re thrilled to see Jessica recognized and named as the new Assistant School Director for the Alabama Banking School,” said Jason Windham, President at Bank Independent and Director for the Alabama Banking School. “Her leadership and work ethic make a positive difference in our organization and I’m excited to continue to work with her at both Bank Independent and now, the Alabama Banking School.”

Diaz is an alumna of the Alabama Banking School, where she served as President of the Class of 2015 and Class Director for the Class of 2023. She joined Bank Independent in January 2024, bringing over 25 years of banking experience with her.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Assistant School Director for the Alabama Banking School,” said Diaz. “This opportunity is both a privilege and a responsibility—to help shape the future of banking leadership in our state. I look forward to serving with dedication, fostering growth, and continuing the tradition of excellence that defines ABS.”
