Kate’s Creations to open downtown storefront, launching box with items made by Huntsville small businesses

Kate’s Creations is a Huntsville-based small business that offers custom-designed Huntsville and reader-specific merchandise. The company’s owner and founder, Kaitlin (Kate) McConnell is a local resident who enjoys creating stickers, tote bags, shirts, magnetic bookmarks, and other fun creations.

McConnell is launching something new to the area, The Huntsville Creators Club Box. This box is a curated, seasonal collection of merchandise that is aimed at highlighting the work of local artists, makers, and small businesses in Huntsville and the surrounding North Alabama region.

Each box features four to five thoughtfully selected items, ranging from stationery and art prints to self-care products, home goods, and other creative pieces. The items are sourced exclusively from area makers, giving each edition a regional feel from season to season.

For McConnell, the project is about sharing the passion for creativity she sees across Huntsville every day.

“I’ve just always loved the sense of collaboration and community, especially here in Huntsville. We have so many creative and artistic minds and so many small businesses,” McConnell said.

McConnell said quantities of the box are limited each season. The Spring 2026 box will be available to early access email subscribers on the morning of February 26, with public sales opening on February 27 at 10:00 a.m. CST.

According to McConnell, quantities of the box are limited each season. Each box is priced at $60 with free shipping, and no subscription is required. Each season’s featured makers will be highlighted in advance, but the exact items will remain a surprise until boxes arrive in the mail.

McConnell said she worked closely with participating small businesses to shape each season’s collection.

“I really tried to get the business’ input on what they think in their product offerings would be the best theme for the seasons,” she said.

McConnell is actively searching for creators, makers, and small businesses for the next issues of the box.

“If anyone wants to throw their hat in a ring for consideration, they’re more than welcome to email me,” she said.

Small businesses interested in collaborating with McConnell can email her at: katescreationsshop@gmail.com.

In addition to launching the Creators Club Box, McConnell is opening a storefront at the Clinton Row Shops in downtown Huntsville.

“I’m also collaborating with some of my fellow small businesses that kind of vibe with my aesthetic and offer products that I don’t necessarily offer to boost what I have available,” McConnell said.

She officially launched the company two years ago after initially experimenting with making her own stickers and magnets.

“Officially I started the company two years ago, but I’ve kind of been crafting all my life. I’ve just started initially playing around with making my own stickers and magnets and then it just kind of snowballed and I am where I am today,” McConnell said.

The Kate’s Creation’s store grand opening is on Saturday, February 21 from 10:00 am – 4:00 p.m. Exclusive grand opening specials will be available at the event and the first 25 purchases get a special goodie bag.
