Returning to a Screen Near You: The 9th Annual BIG Marketing & PR Event

October 19, 2021/in Entrepreneurs, Community Development, Featured, News, People/by Lori Connors

Once again, The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship and North Alabama Chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (NAPRCA) have joined forces in presenting the 9th Annual BIG Marketing & PR Event. The event promises to be a day filled with marketing and public relations takeaways, along with valuable networking opportunities.

The event focuses on specific, strategy-driven, practical information and will create a conducive learning environment geared towards small business owners, non-profit organizations, and Marketing and PR professionals. It will also provide business owners and professionals with an opportunity to access valuable tools and resources all designed to take their marketing and PR to the next level.

The BIG event will feature a variety of engaging speakers and subject matter experts in their respective fields. Presentation topics include cultivating resilience, content marketing, crisis communications, APR accreditation, and data driven solutions designed for small businesses and organizations.

Cultivating resilience requires an understanding of how one navigates adversity. It’s not necessarily about bouncing back from adversity, but rather by developing a resilient mindset that enables one to move forward effectively and efficiently.

In her presentation, “Thrive Through It,” author and consultant Brittany Cole shares “The Resilience Roadmap” to help leaders thrive their way through adversity. Participants will leave Cole’s presentation with a valuable set of tools to prioritize self-care, lead others through change, and thrive in their respective careers.

Growing an audience isn’t just about gaining more reach; it’s also about reaching the right audience. Since 1985, author and consultant Mark Amtower has advised small, medium, and large companies on all facets of marketing to the government. Although this session is geared toward marketing professionals in the Gov/Con world, participants will benefit from learning how to cultivate the right audience and leveraging social tools to develop one’s LinkedIn network.

The “Crisis Communications” panelists will discuss their biggest challenges faced as well as their victories experienced during the pandemic. Speakers include Claire Aiello, Huntsville/Madison County Chamber VP of Marketing & Communications, Craig Williams, Huntsville City Schools Chief Communications Officer, and Sue Esslinger, Marketing Director for the Huntsville Hospital Health System.

In the PR & Marketing world, success is often dependent on staying relevant, resourceful, and inspired. “Achieving Accreditation: The Importance of Earning Your APR,” APR credentialed panelists Laurie Quiller, Vanessa Stiles, and Janelle Guthrie discuss their journey to accreditation and share with participants how they can maximize their career potential by acquiring the APR distinction.

The BIG Marketing & PR Event will take place on Thursday, October 21st using Whova, a virtual conference platform. Registration for Catalyst and NAPRCA members is $59; $39 for those affiliated with a nonprofit organization; $79 for nonmembers. For more information and promo code, email wbc@catalystcenter.org. As an added incentive, the first 100 registrants will receive a copy of Brittany Cole’s latest book, “Thrive Through It.”

The deadline for registration is 8:00 AM (CDT), Thursday, October 21st.

For more information, contact Holly Brockman at (256) 428-8190.
