The Snail on the Wall to Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day on April 25
The Snail on the Wall bookstore will participate in the 13th anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 25.
Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year, more than 1,600 stores are participating across the country.
The Snail on the Wall will have a daylong celebration from 10 am to 5 pm. Store owners said they expect customers to line up early so they can be ready when doors open at 10 am to search for the Libro.fm Golden Ticket, which gives one winner free audiobooks for one year.
Author Rea Frey will be visiting 10 am – 1 pm to sign copies of her new thriller, Dear Mother. Customers may spin a prize wheel with each purchase for items such as books, stickers, and store coupons. There will also be Blind Dates with a Book and a variety of Independent Bookstore Day exclusive items, including Blackwing pencil sets, signed children’s books, and “Shop Local / Shop Indie” totes.
“Independent Bookstore Day always brings a crowd and is one of our favorite days of the year. It’s a chance for our team and our customers to share the joy and magic that can only be found at a community bookstore. We love watching adults and kids win prizes all day long and get excited about reading,” said Lady Smith and Christina Tabereaux, co-owners of the Snail on the Wall.
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
