PROJECTXYZ provides $250,000 investment for ASCTE Foundation
When the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering does something, it’s with the students in mind.
And Monday was no exception.
PROJECTXYZ CEO Kim Lewis and President Larry Lewis, along with ASCTE President Matt Massey and ASCTE Foundation President PeggyLee Wright, joined the entire student body in announcing a $250,000 investment in the ASCTE Foundation. Kimberly Lewis is also a member of the ASCTE Board of Trustees.
“This is all new for you,” Wright told the freshmen and first-year sophomores. “And you’re going to love it.”
To the juniors and seniors, she asked, “Who pays for this beautiful campus.”
“Partners,“ they answered in unison.
“Every penny is because of people who donate to our school,” Wright said. “Y’all make it so easy.”
Wright said she first met Kim Lewis about eight years ago when she was pitching a company idea.
“She didn’t know me but she took a chance,” Wright said. “These two are exceptional community leaders.”
The gift is PROJECTXYZ’s first financial contribution to the foundation and builds on a partnership that is already creating opportunities for the students.
“The reason we made this was because of you,” Kim Lewis said to the students in the school auditorium. “We just want to make sure you can be the best you can be.
“I just want to say ‘thank you.’”
Headquartered in Huntsville, PROJECTXYZ provides technical solutions for federal and commercial customers in engineering, manufacturing, logistics, information technology, and alternative energy.
The company’s support of ASCTE reflects the organization’s shared interest in helping students pursue their passions while strengthening the talent pipeline for cyber, engineering, and other technical careers.
“At PROJECTXYZ, we see every day how important it is to have talented people who can think critically, solve complex problems, and bring new ideas to the table,” Kim Lewis said. “ASCTE is developing those capabilities in students at an extraordinary point in their lives. We want these students to know there is a place for their passions and talents right here in Huntsville and Alabama.
“Our investment, along with welcoming our first ASCTE interns this semester, is about helping students see the possibilities ahead of them and building the workforce our community and our nation will need in the future.”
Along with the donation, it was announced that PROJECTXYZ will welcome its first three ASCTE student interns. They’ll have the chance to take what they are learning at ASCTE and apply it in a professional technical environment while gaining valuable experience and exploring career opportunities in Alabama.
Through the partnerships, the students gain experience and connections that can help shape their futures, while industry partners get the opportunity to work with and help develop the next generation of cyber, engineering, and technology talent.
ASCTE is a public magnet high school serving students from across Alabama and is the only high school in the nation that seamlessly integrates cyber technology and engineering into its curriculum.
The school’s mission is to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to embed cyber protections throughout the engineering lifecycle, ensuring high levels of learning and readiness for the future workforce.
“An investment in the ASCTE Foundation is ultimately an investment in our students and in what they will go on to accomplish,” Wright said. “PROJECTXYZ understands that preparing the next generation of cyber and engineering leaders takes more than what happens in the classroom. It takes industry partners who are willing to invest in students, open doors, and give them opportunities to put their talents to work.
“We are incredibly grateful to Kimberly, Larry, and the entire PROJECTXYZ team for making that commitment.”
