Ground is broken for ‘next chapter’ of ServisFirst bank

Citing the vision of Andy Kattos, ServisFirst Bank Regional CEO Jim Holtkamp celebrated the bank’s new Huntsville location during a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday.

“Andy drove by and saw a for sale sign and got on the phone,” Holtkamp said with Kattos, the bank’s director emeritus, among those in the audience. “Without Andy’s leadership over the last two decades, we wouldn’t be here today.

“I see this as our next chapter.”

A four-story, 25,500-square-foot regional headquarters will rise at 515 Meridian Street, adjacent to Gateway Greenway. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.

“This is a project that Andy started … and (Executive Vice President) Drew (Battle) and Jim gotta pay for,” Mayor Tommy Battle said to laughter. “This bank has grown with our community and helped our community grow, making it a better place.”

The building will accommodate about 50 employees and includes office space, a community room, meeting areas, and a 1,200-square-foot covered rooftop patio.

“ServisFirst Bank has experienced meaningful growth in the Huntsville market, and this new headquarters reflects our long-term commitment to the community,” Holtkamp said. “We are proud to invest in a space that not only supports our team and clients, but also creates opportunities to gather, connect and continue building strong relationships throughout the region.

“Let’s break ground and move dirt to our new home.”

The facility is being built by Fite Building Co., with design by Matheny Goldmon Architecture + Interiors, who were the bank’s first customers, Holtkamp said. Project partners include SSOE Group, PEC Structural Engineering, Schoel and GTEC.

ServisFirst Bank, which has been in Huntsville since 2006, also has offices at 401 Meridian Street and on Enterprise Way in Cummings Research Park.
