Any small business entity that makes it to the quarter century mark is no doubt, considered a success. DealNews is no exception. The Huntsville-based online company specializing in finding the best deals that money can buy will celebrate its silver anniversary on March 31st. 

Back in 1997, DealNews was founded by two friends who wanted to build a platform to share the great deals and savings they had been finding with the world. 

Despite the twists and turns of economic crisis over the past two decades, topped by an ongoing pandemic, DealNews.com has continued to flourish for twenty-five years. This can be attributed, largely in part to the resiliency of co-founder/CEO Dan de Grandpre. 

De Grandpre has a well-earned reputation for his forward-thinking leadership in the world of e-commerce, as well as his ability to foresee, anticipate, and act on shifts in consumer behavior.

De Grandpre pioneered the concept of aggregating “deals.” When the bargain hunting became all-encompassing, he abandoned his doctoral studies to devote his full attention to growing DealNews. This is particularly noteworthy because the world wide web was still in its relative infancy. 

The company employs a team of experts to scour tens of thousands of new offers to handpick — and verify — the best deals. Over the past 25 years, DealNews has grown to more than 100 employees worldwide – and has expanded its offices to New York and Dublin.

DealNews combines proprietary data analytics with human curation to match its users with relevant limited-time discounts from top retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target.

Since the advent of e-commerce, de Grandpre has carefully analyzed hot trends from online auctions to flash sales to daily deals. De Grandpre wisely anticipated the trend toward mobile apps and made the timely shift. As a result, DealNews now experiences more app traffic than the traditional website search.
