Woodward Design+Build is working on a warehouse expansion project for Gulf Distributing Company in Huntsville.

The $9 million project includes a 65,000-square-foot warehouse addition and site improvements to Gulf Distributing’s existing 109,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility. Woodward is providing design and construction services for the project.

The expansion follows a previous collaboration between the companies on Gulf Distributing’s $36 million headquarters revitalization in Mobile.

According to project details, the Huntsville expansion is intended to support the company’s distribution operations in North Alabama. Once completed, the facility will function as an open distribution warehouse.

“Projects like this are about more than just adding square footage,” said Jered Smith, Senior Project Manager at Woodward. “By working closely with Gulf’s operations team, we’re able to design solutions that improve how their trucks move through the site, how product moves through the warehouse, and ultimately how efficiently their business runs day to day.”
