COPT to Construct 5-Story Office Building at Redstone Gateway

September 14, 2022/in Lead, Community Development, Construction, Defense, Development, Engineering, Featured, News, Real Estate/by Marie Johnson

The Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT) has announced the construction of a new 5-story, 131,000 square foot office building at Huntsville’s Redstone Gateway.

COPT, a privately traded real estate company, partnered with the Montgomery-based Jim Wilson & Associates (JWA) to undertake the further development of the area to meet the needs of contractors working for the Federal Government. The new building, which will be located at 8100 Rideout Road, will be next to the two-building campus of defense titan Northrop Grumman.

“The momentum continues to grow at Redstone Gateway. 8100 Rideout Road will be a state of the art ‘Class A’ office building with a targeted completion in the summer of 2023. The building offers exceptional signage opportunities with visibility to over 20,000+ cars per day entering Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9. This is a result of Huntsville’s rapid growth and the contractor demand for space at Redstone Gateway,” said James Lomax, Redstone Gateway’s Vice President of Asset Management & Leasing.

The partnership between COPT and JWA has invested heavily in amenities to improve the quality of life for those who will be working in the area, including new restaurants, a pre-school and daycare facility, green spaces, and pedestrian infrastructure.

The new building at 8100 Rideout Road is one of over twenty million-dollar-plus construction permits that were greenlit for the state of Alabama in August, many of which are slated for Huntsville and Madison.
