IronMountain Solutions Makes Donation to Foster Care Farm Community
Local tech firm IronMountain Solutions has donated $100,000 to Davidson Farms Cottage Community.
Davidson Farms, which is owned and operated by the Kids to Love nonprofit organization, gives orphaned and abandoned tween and teen girls a safe and stable home.
The donation from IronMountain Solutions will be used to provide landscaping and driveway construction for a new ‘cottage community’ for young women who have aged out of the foster care system.
The cottages, which are currently under construction and slated to open in mid-2022, will be used to help transition teen girls to living independently, beginning careers or continuing their education while still having access to the mentors of the Kids to Love organization.
The Kids to Love organization was founded by a former foster and adopted child, Lee Marshall. While the foundation lists its first commitment as the matching of foster children to adoptive parents, the sad reality is that many orphaned and abandoned children will not find forever homes.
As a result, Kids to Love devotes a great deal of effort to providing emotional support and educational resources to foster children.
These range from providing simple school supplies all the way up to the KTECH program, which provides advanced technical vocational training to teenagers in the organization’s care.
IronMountain Solutions President and CEO Hank Isenberg stated, “Thanks to the vision of Kids to Love, I am honored to witness the future growth of the Cottage Community. My hope is that the program builds the path to success for these residents.”
