Orbital Assembly Names Ascent Solar CEO Jeffrey Max to its Board of Directors
HUNTSVILLE, AL – Orbital Assembly (OA), developer of automated and habitable space platforms, announced that Jeffrey Max, serial tech entrepreneur, investor, and CEO of Ascent Solar Technologies (NASDAQ: ASTI) has joined its board of directors.
Over a 30-year career, Max has founded, built, incubated, and driven successful global companies with multiple exits in financial services, payments, mobile commerce, AdTech, and aerospace. As CEO of Ascent Solar, he is driving the company’s global positioning as a leader in flexible, thin-film solar technologies.
In addition to several other board positions, Max advises and mentors a select group of portfolio companies and founding executives in aerospace, BioMed, and AdTech.
“Jeffrey has over three decades of experience in scaling up businesses, securing financing, and working within the space industry ecosystem,” says Rhonda Stevenson, CEO of Orbital Assembly. “We value the capabilities Jeffrey brings to OA to build versatile automated and habitable platforms, scaling to hybrid gravity space stations.”
From 2019 to 2022, Max was Chairman and CEO of Agile Space Industries, an in-space propulsion solutions provider, specializing in additively manufactured hypergolic chemical systems.
During Max’s tenure, Agile was able to quickly expand into design and manufacturing, securing contracts to supply thrusters for multiple NASA lunar lander missions. Under his leadership, Agile grew from a team of 6 to over 60 and acquired Tronix3D, a contract-based additive manufacturer specializing in the 3D printing of exotic metal alloys.
“Orbital Assembly has an extraordinary, experienced team and their versatile product roadmap puts them years ahead of their competitors,” Max says. “I’m pleased to be working with a company on the leading edge of the cislunar space economy.”
